Our Fields
Our fields are worked on by farmers who practice age old organic farming practices passed on by previous generations of organic farmers. In addition to this, more than 166 hectares land benefits from further organic training and monitoring we provide for the farmers who tend to them.
Plant Care
- We control weeds and disease through organic manure and organic folia
- We are a 100% manual plucking farm (plucking only 2 leaf and a bud) to maintain quality product and the health of our Tea Bushes
- The three month post-harvest period (dormancy period because of our Hilly climatic conditions) gives us time for pruning (once in 5 years) and skiff (yearly) to ensure renovation of new shoots and health of the plant
- All of our farmers are trained to monitor and keep records of the organic farming system (including plucking, pruning, skiffing, manuring, weeds and pest control, etc.) in accordance with our Internal Control System (ICS)
Care for the Community
- Our Tea Farms directly benefit more than 247 households
- All of these households further benefit from the distribution of cows, construction of cowsheds and Biogas facilities
- Our Farmers enjoy premium prices for their produce and also get regular free training and technical support to improve soil fertility and plant yield
